PRESS RELEASE: NSW Health buys 89 Remmie digital otoscopes for state-wide Hospital in the Home programs
As part of a Digital Uplift initiative suppirting Hospital in the Home programs across Local Health Districts and Specialty Health Networks, the NSW Ministry of Health has purchased 89 Remmie4 digital otoscopes, expanding access to remote ear, nose and throat assessment across NSW.
The Remmie4 digital otoscope is a high quality, easy-to-use ear camera that enables clinicans and patients to see, capture and share clear views of the ear canal and eardrum using a phone, tablet or computer. By supporting the secure sharing of ENT images and symptoms information with clinicians from virtually everywhere, the device strengthens the delivery of connected care beyond the hospital setting.
NSW Health has procured 89 Remmie digital otoscopes for distribution to participating Hospital in the Home services across NSW.
Remmie Health is designed to reduce unnecessary doctor visits and improve access to specialist input and accurate diagnosis. Through its digital otoscope and telehealth-enabling app, users are guided to capture ear, nose and throat medical history while enabling real-time sharing of physcial findings during telehealth consultations.
Through Propell, the Australian distributor, integration with Healthdirect VideoCall has been achieved. This allows patients to connect remotely with clinicians and have their ear,nose and throat symptoms assessed during a telehealth appointment.

The latest NSW Health rollout marks an important step in the expansion of digital health tools that support care at home, improve clinician visibility, and enhance access to timely ENT assessment across the public health system.
